Micro credit relates mainly to non formal banking activities with the poverty stricken mass people. GRAMAUS started its micro credit programs with a view to eradicating poverty that tends to cripple the toiling class, mass people deprived of rights and the womenfolk fallen victims to gender discrimination. It has not only strengthened the mental strength of the poor but also created unprecedented scopes for job facilities, an atmosphere of development and progress has raised in the rural economy. Women have earned economic solvency along with decision making regarding vital family affairs. As a result they have succeeded in turning the wheel of progress thereby bringing about a positive change of their ownselves and of the society. The ongoing rural micro-credit program has been operating since 1995 with the financial support from PKSF. Under this program loans from Tk 10,000/- to Tk 49,000/- are allowed.
