Enhancing Resources and Increasing Capacities of Poor Households towards Elimination of their Poverty (ENRICH)

ENRICH is a programme conducted at the grassroots level focusing for overall household development of the poor based on a ‘One Union One PO’ principle. The programme targets poor families, working with them to enhance and maximize the utilization of their resources and skills. ENRICH aims to alleviate poverty not only through income generation but through a holistic approach targeting other crucial aspects of human life including health, education, youth development, community development, etc, the goal being sustainable development driven by the people themselves.

The loan activities under ENRICH program are classified 3 categories :

1) Livelihood Improvement Loan

2) ENRICH IGA Loan

3) Asset Creation Loan

The main objective of Livelihood Improvement Loan |

To develop a quality sanitary system for poor families and increase its use;
To help the poor from asset loss or depletion;
To empower poor families socially and economically;
To increase the involvement of the poor in different socio-economic activities;
To help the poor initiate and sustain employment generation activities;
To give food security to the poor;
Most of all develop the standard of living of the poor.

The main objective of ENRICH IGA Loan |

 

Assisting poor people in creating opportunities by purchasing/ leasing/ mortgaging land, leading to the economic development of the family;
Creating assets through the establishment of ownership of land by giving lease or by mortgaging;
Creating purchasing opportunity of all physical properties which is used in productive purposes of the family;
Initiating skill enhancement training programme to support these types of opportunities for the family for the formation of human capital.

The main objective of Asset Creation Loan Loan

This loan can be used for implementing new sector-based IGAs such as dairy farm, small cattle farm, other small and medium enterprise, etc instead of existing RMC/UMC/UPP;
Initiate family-based loan instead of member-based loan programme;
Assist in selecting appropriate business sector for using loan in the field level by preparing family-based development plan;
Provide financial assistance to increase family’s income and to reduce overall poverty of the family;
Identify the sectors of technical, marketing and other supports for implementing sustainable IGAs;
